Motor transplant, is my home-made transom strong enough?

Hey guys, I'm doing a full restore on a 17ft glastron sse170. I've had to rebuild the transom and was wondering if yall felt it was fit for the new motor I planned putting in.

I built this transom(2x3/4") for a newer motor I planned on putting onto the boat, the original was a V4 Evinrude 88, but I acquired a V6 150 Evinrude (boat tag specified a max engine size of 155). Do you think a transom of this size will have any issues handling a motor that's essentially 80-100lbs heavier? Transom specifications seem to be a bit of voodoo magic online, with varying specs and statements. I'm essentially going from a V4 to a V6 but the power is within the tag specification.

In my opinion it is easy to add another piece of 3/4 plywood now.-----Much easier than doing it next year.----There will be no issues in bolting that 155 HP motor to a hefty transom.

Have seen some folks adding knee braces to transom for big motors. Especially in old Checkmates and Bajas. Google "transom knee brace" for pics.

You mention having already rebuilt the transom, right? How close are you to the original specs?

Is there fiberglass between the two sheets of plywood? You can add more FG to the inside if you are worried. Also the floor will help brace the transom.
