Leaving Tampa, Osprey, Fort Myers ? ?

I’m in Polk county and I’m riding it out with you guys. Seems like no matter what storm it is or where it comes from, it likes to cut through Polk county. The bands are starting to get heavier and harder and power is starting to fluctuate😒 Anyways stay safe guys and thoughts and prayers are with...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

That’s sounds like an acme rocket strapped on the coyote if the copilot is lacking adequate experience

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

So I think you’ll be fine, just feather the gas and brake and of course inspect before you commit. So, I used to have a little 2wd ranger with the 3.0- I think max towing was something like 4100 and I used to tow my dad’s mastercraft all over into different lakes. Combined weight of boat and...

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

My opinion is your set up will be fine. It may not be a world class ski boat, but you know that already, but it should be fun regardless. And if it’s not quite exciting enough, then the tuber can do “tricks” like standing up, no hands, whatever you can think of. Should be a good time on the water.

ATV and moving boat around on stone

Haha! That’s on you. You can always try it. Good luck on talking the boss into it.

ATV and moving boat around on stone

I’d say you’re overly ambitious. At that weight I would stick to a real tow vehicle.

Using warped plywood for bench seats

Yea my brackets are only for 3/4 material, but they were really beat up so I had new ones made for my newer thicker benches

Using warped plywood for bench seats

Sorry, I guess I didn’t really answer your question, I would think 2x6 would be good, but I think you could get by with less. And if you do reinforce with wood, I would glue it and screw it.

Using warped plywood for bench seats

So I’m a big boy, so I doubled my plywood up, and it’s pretty stout now. But I would think you would want some kind of reinforcement

Using warped plywood for bench seats

If buying new is an option, it’s probably the easiest and most time efficient method. Good luck

I wouldn’t count on it still being flexible enough. I would try to see if I could flex it back into place, and clamp it for a few days. Maybe even flex it past flat and flex it the other way and clamp it there. Then after I got it flat and stable I would glass it. But I would say once you glass...

    Signs of bad pour foam

I have some advice for what not to do from a previous boat owner- and it was a previous boat of mine so I can say that without specifically admitting to anything myself. The “previous boat owner” who was younger and dumber at the time, noticed that his fiberglass boat benches that used to be...

    Marine grade wood sealer advice

Thanks Scott. And do you have a particular sealer that you recommend?

    Marine grade wood sealer advice

Ahoy mates! I’m looking for some guidance on a wood sealer for my floor and benches. I found a product called Gleam by Total Boat seems to have good reviews for finish and ease of use, so I was leaning in that direction. And I was going to use the “Old Timer’s” mix for that thirsty first coat...
