Thanks. The downriggers are 30 amps each, I'm not sure what the washdown and usb port would draw, plus I may add more load to the two empty spots. I would like to wire it as if it had the full 100 amp load, some day it might. What size cable would I need for 100 amps, and should the circuit...
I will be installing a new 6 circuit 100A Blue Sea fuse panel on the transom to clean up some of the existing wiring. Right now there are 2 downriggers, 1 usb port, a wash down pump, and a bilge pump all connected directly to one or the other battery with in-line fuses. I plan to leave the bilge...
The next morning I set it on the shop floor, put the nuts back on the studs flush with the end of the studs, and tapped on them with a brass drift and hammer. The gap slowly opened up and the lower unit came loose. I think it was a combination of the penetrating oil and vibration from tapping on...
I get a little gap where the lower unit attaches to the leg, but it seems the drive shaft is stuck in the engine coupler. It's a 2011 engine that came on a new to me boat that I just bought in Sept last year. I suspect the lower unit has never been removed by the PO, so the splines have likely...
Hey, I think I did it.
I've added radar, mounted a couple fire extinguishers and a boat hook bracket, and done a bit of clean up since these pictures were taken, but that's about it. I've had her in the water all winter and have had her out in some really ugly, cold weather, and loved every...
Hey Kev. I have some pics the previous owner sent me via facebook messenger that I transferred to my 'pictures' on my computer, but I can't figure out how to copy them from my 'pics' to you on here. I hate being computer illiterate, but I guess I am.
Thanks kenny nunez, your advice worked! Got the correct solenoid, and voila! She cranks. And thanks to all for your input! Good explanation of how the solenoids work achris! The mechanic I spoke with said all 12V solenoids are the same, the parts store said all 12V solenoids are the same, I...
Thanks Ken. The solenoid was replaced because the old one failed. I will try your suggestion. It may take a few days to get the new one, I live on a little Island and will have to order it. I appreciate the reply.
Everything worked fine then shut off and when we tried to restart it we got nothing. When it did work it seemed intermittent, would stop cranking before the key was released, but would crank again when the key returned to start. All connections clean, starter and slave solenoid bench tested OK...
I know. Believe it or not my camera broke. I don't have a smart phone, so now I need to decide what to do. Maybe I'll order a new camera online, there is no place to buy one on the little island where I live. Stay tuned.....
