    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

Glad to see you found the issue!! Can't wait for you to have it back together and running again!

    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

I'm not sure what bearing you're talking about, but could it be a "bearing" that's pressed into a drilled hole to seal the end of it after it was drilled? I thought you had that exhaust off already (post #62)?

    Honda b75 K1 or K2, carb help.

Adjusting the float is not nearly as critical as it seems to be. You really just want to make sure it's able to open and close the float valve fully. Doing it to spec insures that, but if you're paying attention when you're putting it together you can get there as well without a spec. If...

1999 Honda 2HP Bottom End Rebuild

Well, I was going to rip on the "Troy" manual vs getting a real Honda manual (because that's usually the case), but I just checked a Honda manual and don't see that spec there either. It references page 15-2 for info on selecting the correct washer/spacer, but then doesn't have anything about...

    2008 BF75 alarm at WOT

Is it possible you lost oil pressure due to foaming the oil from being overfilled?

    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

Sorry for the confusion... you're correct! For the sake of conversation, from now on let's refer to that as the "casting hole" (whether or not that's why it's there). You could/should block that off... maybe by sticking a rubber cork in there and putting a big fender washer over that stud...

    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

I you look at the diagram back in post #33, you will see the "tiny hole". This is fed from the bypass hose, along with the telltale. So the bypass hose feeds both. It's just a small amount of water though. Yes, that smaller hole at the top is the output from the thermostat and goes into...

    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

That hole is where the BYPASS water gets into the exhaust from the water pump. It is NOT where water going through the head gets into the exhaust, which I believe is where your problem is. The smaller hole at the TOP of that picture should have a CLEAR path to the exhaust. Somewhere that's...

    Honda BF75L cooling water issues

There's no valve in that path, so you should be fine sticking something like a coathanger into that water passage. Remember though that the parts are aluminum, but any steel is going to scratch it up if you're being very aggressive at all. If you have some old windsheild wipers laying...

    4 hp Tohatsu won't idle.

Here is a diagram of what I was talking about...

    4 hp Tohatsu won't idle.

So you have drilled out the cap and did remove the idle needle valve when cleaning? The needle valve would be between 1.5 to 2.5 turns out usually. When the carb is apart (and the needle valve removed), try pushing air into the OUTLET side of the carb when the throttle is closed. That would...

    honda dies when throddling down

The actual specific model number of the engine might come in handy to understand what could be causing the issue.

Honda BF50 Overheating, Oil from Exhaust

When you write "(though the impeller looked OK when I pulled it)", does that mean you pulled it apart and inspected the impeller AFTER you had the overheat? Did you inspect the water intake(s) to make sure something didn't get sucked in there and block the flow?

Shifting issue after carb cleaning and impeller change- Honda 25hp 4 stroke

I can't speak to that particular motor because I haven't done one of those. Typically you have to make sure both the upper control and the shift rod are in the correct position (either neutral or fwd or rev) when you slide the lower unit back up into the case. And you have to make sure you...

Shifting issue after carb cleaning and impeller change- Honda 25hp 4 stroke

If it worked good before you did the carb and impeller work then don't go changing other things that you didn't mess with. You'll just cause other problems. The lower shift rod probably wasn't in the right place when you put it back together.
