I have a 88 Johnson 110hp, I have replaced the coils, plugs, plug wires and made sure the main battery was fully charged but for some reason the motor will only fire on three cylinders for a while (15-30 min of run time). You can here it trying to fire and once it does it runs GREAT and it keeps...
My starter bendix was just spinning and not engaging. I have replaced the solenoid, starter and the switch as well as cleaned the battery posts. When it sticks I can get it to stop by simply shaking the solenoid.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do next.

When I start my engine sometimes the Bendix disengages but continues to be energized (still spinning). I have replaced the solenoid but the problem is still there. What do I do next.

I just did a compresion test on my 1989 Johnson 110 cylinders 1&2 are at 110 psi, 3&4 are at 120 psi. Is this a simple case of torgueing the head on 1&2 or am I looking at something more serious such as rings or worse? By the way...this forum has been such a huge help already, thanks in advance...
