I have a 88 Johnson 110hp, I have replaced the coils, plugs, plug wires and made sure the main battery was fully charged but for some reason the motor will only fire on three cylinders for a while (15-30 min of run time). You can here it trying to fire and once it does it runs GREAT and it keeps running fine all day. Next morning same thing. HELP.... We love to fish and this is slowing us down.

What are the results of a compression test ?----And have you checked all the pins in the rubber plug connecters ?---Have you used a timing light to determine which cylinder is the problem ?

I have not done compression test in about a year or more but will ASAP, Not sure what you are referring to about the pins in the rubber plug connectors, I have not used a timing light but I am pretty sure I know which cylinder it because I have oil coming from the plug, it's on the bottom right as facing the rear of the motor. Thanks for your response.

Look inside the rubber plugs .--Then see if all the pins and sockets are in the correct position.---Sounds like you have a broken wire / poor connection somewhere.
