I have a 8hp Suzuki 2 stroke. I can't figure out what year it is. Only thing I know is its a DT8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Here is a shot of the I.D Plate. None of the numbers match suzukis id's ?
Need some new seals(o rings) for the lower end where you change the gear oil. You guys know where I can find them or an up to date number or size I can get to fix it. Thanks!!

Got this motor from an older guy. he said he only used quick silver oil in this motor since he had it, and mixed 50/1 he has had the motor for years. should i continue this mix or go back to factory mix. if so what is factory mix.
I want to repaint my old motor. it runs great! is there any other paints on the market other than nymarine. i am kind of on a budget right now maybe in a few years i could do it right. just looking for some close matches or can i take it to a local paint shop and get it matched?
Do you guys buy the drive pins (shear pins) or do you make your one out of round stock. If you make them what size dia. and what type of rod do you use, And how do you get the fuel connector from the tank(female end) apart to replace the seals in it? I bought a fuel tank repair kit and it came...
Can you guys tell me how much slack is in between the prop and the prop nut. mine seems to have quit a bit. if you tighten it up all the way you cant get the cotter pin in? and it just seems like there is a lot of play? Maybe a 1/2 inch.
Fired my old motor up today. had to put new lines on the fuel tank. it hasn't been started in 6 years!!. it starts and runs for about 30 seconds then reves up and dies. could it be the tank is loosing pressure. i did notice it was leaking around the black primer button.
