Ouch. I need to work more overtime to pay for this stuff. I managed $240 for selling some gun parts on Ebay so I made it half way or so.

Here is the list of Mercury Quicksilver parts I ordered for the boat. I ordered from Georgia Watersports as they will send all this stuff to me in Canada for $64 USPS

I also picked up a Sony deck for the boat CDXGT640UI. It will handle an Ipod and is Sirius satellite ready with a kit. It was a Best Buy deal for like $120 or something.

You will like the satellite....I got one for my truck...but its the docked type satellite system...that way I can transfer it to the boat quickly at the boat dock (bought an extra satellite docking station for the boat) that way ya dont hafta pay for an extra subscription...espec on a boat that gets used only 1/2 the year...

Yup. I need 'em and the parts that go along with 'em.

I sent the order in at about 1 am and got a reply back by 8:30 that they confirmed my parts by serial number. Now that's service.

My seats will come from Iboats though for hosting the site for us.

Hi, Richard

I have verified all the part in you order with the serial number you provided and you did pick all the correct parts. There is one part on the order that is No longer available through mercury, but I will send you the replacement for the same price. Part number 710-27-53354A 1 Super seeds to RL4398, you will receive RL4398. Thanks for your business.

Sincerely,

Jon Goldberg

Greetings,

Nice resto, i like how you brought the white all the way up on the bow. There is one of these boats down the road from me, i pass it everyday, that appears to be filled with garbage. Hull looks solid from distance but this post makes me want to stop and bang on the door. I have to finish the resto im on now though first.

sprintst,
It's really nice to hear comments about good suppliers too. We always hear more about the bad ones.
You project is coming along nicely.

Thanks man. It doesn't hurt to knock on the door and ask, unless he's crazy, as you might get it for next to nothing. They are super easy to restore assuming the hull is sound. I went a little nuts with new everything but they can be done on the cheap as well. The parts are readly available from what I can see. I'm just lucky that the windshield and some of the trim pieces were good as those are harder to find.

Yup. I definately compliment when the opportunity presents itself as well.

If I can find a nice warm garage I can get a jump on this thing. I'm going to take some of the interior wood into my truck and drive it over to the shop so I can at least get a coat of epoxy on it to reuse before upholstery and to get the lounge seat boxes built. That should save a bit of time later.

Greetings,

I am actually restoring a 97 Starcraft CC that was totally neglected by the previous owner, i dont think it was ever covered. I am also battling the weather becaue I am trying to get it done before the spring striper run. I have the entire interior in my garage right now also, sealing the deck wood up getting a head start before the warm weather.

The boat is about 2 inches to wide to fit in my garage otherwise it would probably already be done!!!!!

It's very tempting for the garage space alone. I'm sure I could rent it out for a massive discount with the garage for the whole Iboats forum guys to come down and work on their boats without freezing.

Considering I'm going to spend 5-10k in Florida this summer just visiting it makes more sense to buy in Vegas :)

I could have a beer and helped out on your boat and vice versa. How much for a new liver anyway :)

Yup. Drinking beer in the snow is just not the same. It does keep it cold though.

I shovelled off a chunk of my deck and will be building my lounge seat boxes tomorrow. I'll see how far I get before the cold gets me. I think they are saying a high of -1 tomorrow.

55 would be great. I warm my garage up to 40 and I am good to work for the night.

33 or 34 in the sun isn't bad with some warm up breaks in there.

I'll try to work around the cold in the next couple of days with some interior wood work. In the process of looking for some stainless steel lounge seat hardware at 1:45 am.

sprintst,
I'm not sure about all of you but I'm really getting sick of this weather. It was even cold in Mexico today. I think this stuff is following me.
Can't wait for warm weather.

I'm going stir crazy. Trying to use the forum for ideas in the meantime.

I may redo my hash like this with a relatively thick piece of aluminum as a veneer to cover all the wood. I can cut all the openings for guages, switches, radio, etc and mount everything on that after I have it painted or brushed.
