Re: X

we had to take french in school... the only thing i learned was "voulez vu couchez avec moi ce sior?" i think that's how you spell it. we western canadains have a love hate relationship with the french canadians. that topic is way to complicated for this forum. i don't have the strenght. too sleepy... or is that sloopy.

Re: X

ahhh mr miller. yes i do regularly break the sound barrior in a rather larger fiberglass contraption known as a 23ft mirage with a brand new 496 ho. my buddy has the exact same boat with a brand new 502. we are both good for 70+ on the ol gphs. i have a sextant to back up my numbers so don't go harrassin me.

now i have also built a little 11ft 8 modified tunnel hull for my kids. it has the merc on there with custom power trim, full interior including sunpad, all guages, 10 cd changer and other comforts found in most luxury homes. that little number is good for 38 mph (built it too heavy).

please refer to the pics below for further clarification. thank you very much for your time and i hope i have cleared up any confusion that i may have caused. hehehe

38 miles an hour.... hair straight back!

My goodness Naughty,
You must own the Campbell River Marina with all these boats, just read one of your other posts and see you have a Martin 242, Laser and 420. Great boats, I used to race 420's, Flying Duchmans and Finn's in my younger days. There is nothing like being on a reach in a big wind, every bit of the boat vibrating, just waiting for something to break.
I must admit I've never gone over 60 mph in a boat, so I guess thats pretty exciting too! Maybe the next time I'm in your neck of BC you can take me for a spin in your big boat for a 2-4 of Kokanee :D
Love to see photos of all your boats.
Peter

Re: X

thanks lost, the 242 is not my boat, we just crewed it for the owner, race out of comox harbour. the 420 and laser are at our cabin on quadra island. and the mirage is in nanaimo where we do all of our saltwater boating. too much crap in the water around here to did it safely at the speeds we like to go.

70 is a rush for sure, but i have to admit that 20+ in the martin is incredible. it is so loud and you can feel everything straining... i love it. my favorite rush though is windsurfing, man can you get going on those things!

i grew up in a summer cabin till i was 13 and had access to very fast boats from birth. mostly flat bottom v drives with 400+ hp. learned to drive 60+ when i was 5. had very good teachers who taught me to respect the speed and how do do it as safley as possible. have been over 100 mph and that was really fast, but the boat was so big that it seemed like 38 in my kid's boat.
