Screenshot_20240128_201139_Facebook.jpgWould you tow this with this. I have heavy duty axles, big brakes and an LS3 with 6 speed auto?

The JEEP is 4WD? The ramp is paved? If yes, traction should be fine, and towing should be fine. Is the hitch rated for the weight of the boat+trailer?

Short wheel base = crappy for towing
Jeep weight is about 3200#
Boat and trailer weight is about 5200#

Having attempted this in the past. I wouldn't do it.

I assume that you are asking because it is questionable. I believe the rated towing capacity of the Jeep is around 3500 lbs.

Probably not the best thing to do for highway speeds. . .

Weight of Jeep means little, factory tow "rating" is the big question !! If the jeep is not rated to tow that much, while you might be able to get away with it....if anything serious would happen, your insurance probably won't cover anything, they call it neglegence.

Actually the jeep weighs 4400#.
doesnt lengthen the wheel base.

the 2-door should be less then 3800 with the V6 and a hard top. swapping to an LS and a TR6060 trans is only 200# more

1999 grand Cherokee is mine. Rated to pull 5000 lb. Yours is a bit small for that.

Absolutely. I dont think it would be great or safe on the highway. But I would not give the 4 mi trip a second thought unless the trailer brakes were non functional.

Used to do similar trip with my dads 22 ft Catalina sailboat towed by a 98 Accord 2 dr V6. Looked goofy with the larger hull sailboat up high....
