Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

I did not read the entire thread, but some said they would rent if the price was right. The price can never be right imo. Even if they leave a cash deposit for the replacement of the boat. I have insurance on the boat, but if damage is caused to another boat, dock or they sink the boat my insurance will not cover it as I rented the boat. So I am on the hook for whatever. God forbid somebody gets hurt. You will pay for that for the rest of your life. In the past I have loaned my boat to my brother and go it back with dock rash on it or other and ended up just being out of pocket to fix it. So no not under any circumstances.
X 2 It's just not worth what could happen. At first You think you are making some extra money up front then something happends, And then you end up paying for it, For the rest of your life in some way.

my old Boss once asked to borrow my motorcycle. I said sure thing, just drop your 18 year old Daughter off at my house and you can ride all weekend.......

I figured either way I would come out fine. ;)

neither a borrower no a lender be. nothing good happens when you borrow or lend something out. there are always exceptions but is it worth a friendship if it is something you really cherish or like a lot?

I wouldnt consider it if they paid cash in advance AND LEFT THEIR CAR AND TITLE AS SECURITY....(NOTE CAR HAS TO BE NO OLDER THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND PAID FOR)

I would have to say maybe.....only since my boat is currently running 5mph max and has plenty of scratches and a less than perfect interior. How much worse can it get?

I will not even allow my wife or grown kids take it out unless I am aboard.
My 30 year old daughter and her husband asked to borrow my boat once.
My response has kept her and all the rest of the kids from ever bringing up the subject again.
