I'll rent either of mine to anyone. I'll even supply the fuel.

As long as they bring the $15,000.00 daily rental fee in cash.:D
Everything has it's price.

Someone made the point that others don't care for your stuff the way you do. Period. That applies to strangers as well as acquaintances. Furthermore, friends (and I mean close friends) may *care* about your boat like you'd want/expect 'em to, but if they're not boat OWNERS, they may not know HOW to care for a boat. Same rules apply to my bikes - if you own one, you know how to ride... Then again, if you owned one, you wouldn't be asking to use mine ;)

Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

I just ran across this ad on craigslist. I have also seen the ads where people want to rent but not ads of people offering to rent.

I hope this guy has some really good insurance!!

Daily rental (dawn to dusk) of a 2005 Sea Doo RXP Super Charged Jet Ski. The ski has an upgraded exhaust, propeller, sponsoons and handlebars. This jet ski is guaranteed to beat any jet ski you will come across on the water.
Jet Ski is on a trailer and ready for a day trip or use in local waters. It has current registrations and all required safety equipment. I have two life jackets available for use as well. $500 deposit required through paypal as well as copies of a valid drivers license, boating license if born after 1972 and copy of a valid major credit card.
Jet ski is currently topped off and must be returned topped off. Jet Ski requires High Octane fuel. There is no limit on the number of hours you can put on the ski. Renter is responsible for any and all damage incurred during the rental period. Ski can be picked up after sun down the night before the rental. At this time all paperwork will be completed as well as a physical check of the jet ski.
Rent it for an extended weekend at the price of $300 for friday through monday, four days for the price of three.

No way !!

I would start renting out family members before I would rent out my boat.

Just kidding. Well... sort of...

I voted yes but There will be a cash deposit of $30k + $500 per day. Must be returned clean and with a full tank..

That plus the Insurance check I can get one heck of a new Pontoon.

Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

Ehhhh,,, NO

I saw a craigslist add (wished I could have found it to post) that went something like this;

I wanted to rent your 18-20 ski boat for $100-150/day so I can chill out with my buddies, drink, chase hotties at the lake. I need to make sure the boat is in good condition and full of fuel, cooler full of ice and beer would be a nice touch too. I can meet you at the Santa Fe hotel around 7am on Saturday to pickup the boat, if I'm late just hang around for an hour or 2 as I'm probably shaking off my hangover. When we are done for the day you can pick up your boat at the marina, not sure which one yet, but I'll give you a call. BTW, the boat will need to be fueled when we are done for the day. After all, it is your boat and I don't see why I should have to fill it with gas.

LMAO :D

Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

I get funny when the tech takes it on a test run to the river after a repair. But I guess if I gave instructions, took a deposit and a high rental price I would do it. I'm not that anal...it's only a "thing." No matter how in love with that thing people are on here, it's still just stuff.

Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

I did not read the entire thread, but some said they would rent if the price was right. The price can never be right imo. Even if they leave a cash deposit for the replacement of the boat. I have insurance on the boat, but if damage is caused to another boat, dock or they sink the boat my insurance will not cover it as I rented the boat. So I am on the hook for whatever. God forbid somebody gets hurt. You will pay for that for the rest of your life. In the past I have loaned my boat to my brother and go it back with dock rash on it or other and ended up just being out of pocket to fix it. So no not under any circumstances.

Back to the ?

NO, would never rent my boat out, BUT........
Would loan it to just one person. And that is.......
My Dad, because he loaned me his when I was 19 years old.
And I'm still questioning his judgment to this day.

my dad would be the only one I'd let borrow it and only after a few more times of him running it with me with him.

Re: Would you rent your boat for a weekend?

Can't remember if I posted this already...but ditto on the F NO!!!

Not only is there a clause in most insurance policies voiding your policy if the boat is rented out...but I rely on my boat to keep me sane..and if someone screws it up for me I will be very not sane.

My boat is named Lithium Rx for a reason!
