wot timing for 83-84 johnson 140

can't find any info on the wot timing for the 83-84 johnson 140. the manual references the decal on the engine only, which is long gone. any help is appreciated. thanks

I think that engine is 20 BTDC. but I am not positive. When in doubt go with the lower # so you dont lean out the pistons. Faz should know this one

Your motor started life with a full spark advance of 28 - I don't know if that has been changed, so check with your service department.

started life ...lol...sounds like it was birthed..28 it is...now get your wifey to drive the boat at wide open throttle while you hang off the back checking the timing, do not drop the timing light into the water..they dont float..lol
