Here's a small glimpse into my world. I'm a conservative, I'm wise enough to know the world doesn't revolve around me and my bank account. I don't buy my meat in neat little packages at the supermarket. I shoot it with a real gun, or scoop it from the waters. I do not belong to a church or a denomination. I do believe in a higher power, and the rights of others to publicly display their faith. I don't believe that young children should be taught in school that having sex with the same sex is normal behavior. I am willing to defend my Country and my family as opposed to having some one else do it for me. And I am a iboater. Bite me!

I'm not surprised. The majority of Americans do not support the gay agenda, why should boating Americans be any different?

i didn't read this as a troll either. it is it's own thread and a simple question. it may not be a simple answer. i think demographics has a lot to do with it. there aren't many, if any, fancy pants rich yacht owners here. mainly hard working folks who take pride in what they do. since this is a boating site, it attracts people with a more outdoor style, not too many city folks...read inner-city. i think you hear it here more because the other boards (boats, engines, trailers, etc.) are all business.

just kiddin, but no kidding, we have a "zero-tolerance" tolerance policy here (really). It's called "rule 32." Penalty for intolerance = termination (technically "hate-related behavior"). Period. At a publicly held company. I hate work, but don't tell anybody, that could get me fired.

BTW theriver, I call myself conservative, but I'm no Bush "yes-man." And I'm not real pleased with the conduct of the Iraqi war either, not from the get-go. And I'm not real pleased with the size of the budget deficit, either. It's getting scary. The Reagan years totally trashed my personal economy. Guess I'm a complicated individual. And I ramble on about nothing sometimes, too. Sorry, carry on ...

I am a very prominent member of a dirtbike (more specifically ATV) forum, and with exception of the older members, it is decidely Liberal. I think it has more to do with age than anything else. Dirtbikes and ATV's are commonly a sport for the younger generation, and as we all know, younger people are more likely to be liberal. Pastimes like boating and fishing are more common to older folks, generally more conservative. As Winston Churchill once said "If you are nineteen and are not liberal, you have no heart. If you are forty and are not conservative, you have no brain."

Hey Devon, welcome to iboats. It's not clear from your post, so if you don't mind my asking, you're not really saying that everybody who voted for Bush falls into 3 of these 4 categories: Anti Democrat Anti Gay Pro War Christian Extremist Surely Bush got a few votes from gay democrats and peace-loving Methodists?

[edit] oops I was inadvertently polically incorrect: I didn't mean to imply that all democrats are gay. And as a Baptist-turned-Methodist I feel comfortable with Baptist/Methodist jokes, like "A Methodist is just a Baptist who can read." But please don't anybody take offense. Thanks.

I have a theory that applies only to a certain segment of the DC Republicans..

It's very similar to the "women don't fart, burp, or snore, therefore the must b!t*h or they will blow up" theory...

My theory: "Conservative republicans must tow the party line BS, tell us how moral they are, and "spread the word", or they will blow up"... DC is their outlet..
