This is why I believe you need to pass a test to reproduce..... I really cant think of any reason to pull that far back to load or to put in...they are jet skis...i guess if they didnt do it that way we wouldnt have anything to laugh at.

My truck has 550hp and 1100 ft/lbs at the rear wheels, and gets 18mpg daily driving. Not bad for an 8K# truck. Oh yeah, it's a diesel though.

My truck has 550hp and 1100 ft/lbs at the rear wheels, and gets 18mpg daily driving. Not bad for an 8K# truck. Oh yeah, it's a diesel though.

The 2-wheel drive (dually) diesel we use at work has 700hp and 1500 ft/lbs at the rear wheels. Not sure how much it weighs, but the average MPG is just over 23.

When I got my first 4WD vehicle back in the 60's when I much younger and foolish an old timer at the gas station told me that all that four wheel drive will do is get you stuck someplace you shouldn't be in the first place.

He was right !!

Truck and 4wd always seemed synonymous to me. Never could understand why buy a truck but leave out one of the best utility features. You're putting up all that cash already... Maybe just my view from living in Minnesota my whole life. Seen some heavy duty, 2wd trucks struggling to get tiny tinnys out of some ramps only to watch a 4wd show up with much larger boat do it with ease. I buy used so don't know how much more the option is new so maybe it is alot.

What? 18mpg happens all day long in these trucks. 23, not so much. Some people without math skills use the overhead display, which is NOT accurate. Me, I figure out each and every tank by hand.

I think he would have done better if he would get rid of the low-profile tires. I use a 2x wheel drive Chev Silverado with a good set of all season tires..never had an issue and my boat and trailer tip the scale just over 4000lbs.

I will agree to this. Last week I helped pull a 4WD out of a deep snow drift cause the owner thought since he had 4WD he would get through it.....he looked a little embarrassed when I had to use my 2WD to get him out.

OKOK you guys are right, 2wd is millions of times better than 4wd. There, feel better now? It's all a scam, a myth, that used properly 4wd will get you out of sticky situations.
Hell, I'm going out to my garage right now, and I'm going to remove the ring and pinion from the front of my rock crawler. Wait till the competitors find out this new amazing info!!!!

I agree!! I'm selling my Jeep and getting a nice chevy 2 wheel drive....long bed...it's gonna be sexy. Can't wait to fishtail it up my drive way after the first snow.
