Re: where are you from?

Bassy,

Boating has not been a priority this season (doggone it!), so I haven't been to any of my favorite lakes this summer :(

Eastman and Hensley are favorites, actually. Army Corps of Engineers prices their annual boat passes right, don't they! I hear Eastman is but a little green rocky pond right now. I bet you'd have to 4WD a quarter mile below the ramp to find water.

McSwain for trout, McClure (both on same entrance ticket), occasionally Don Pedro. And for a quick picnic or tubing with a bunch of kids little tiny Yosemite Lake right near the new UC Merced. Too many water fleas, but if you get there early it is OK. Nice park, not near enough lake. Turlock lake once, probably never again. Haven't yet explored past those, really want to try the Delta and also a little higher up in the mountains. Maybe Cherry Lake, Bass Lake??

I grew up near Kaweah, still have relatives down that way so I'll be back over there eventually.

You sound like Millerton is the place for you? Pine Flat? Huntington?

Re: where are you from?

Sellersville, PA - A small suburb of Philly. I've lived here since I married in 1984. Before that it was all over the place:

Born in Bangor, ME
Manchester, VT
Spokane, WA
Las Vegas, NV
Wilmington, CA
Huntington Beach, CA
San Pedro, CA
Vienna, VA - 3 addresses
Back to Vegas after high school
Twin Peaks, CA to live with my Dad
Reston, VA
Back to Vegas
Finally landed in PA in 1978 & lived in Philly, Andalusia, Ft. Washington, & Oreland before marrying.

For those who may wonder, yes, I was a service brat. My Dad was Air Force & my stepfather was Navy.

PA is beautiful when you get away from the cities. In particular, the Susquehanna & Juniata Rivers. Also worthy of mention is the Grand Canyon of PA where the Pine Creek meanders peacefully along teeming with smallmouth & holdover brownies. :)

Now that I am a boat owner, I'll be spending some time exploring Raystown too! :D

JS,

1977 - I worked for the town of Vienna and shared an apartment in Reston. Don't even ask what address, I'd never be able to remember. Something to do with alcohol and female companionship I'm sure!

The Professor,

Do you ever get back to the area? Reston is quite a "hot spot" right now. Very trendy place.

-Josh

Re: where are you from?

Professor, you will enjoy Raystown. It is a beautiful, deep lake that meanders through the Central PA mountians. Tuesdays thru Thursdays, before Memorial Day and after Labor Day are the times for the lake. Weekends during the summer are getting pretty hectic and crowded.

Aspeck,

That'll work for me! My job is shift work that has me off 2 days in the middle of the week 3 of every 7 weeks.

On my regular weekends I plan to fish the upper Chesapeake Bay out of Rock Hall for stripers. The big 'uns come up in the fall! I've been there in October in years past and caught fish up to 43" in 5' of water. What a blast! :D

I'll be at Lake Bridgeport this weekend, camping with family & friends, and hopefully reducing the hybrid population a bit. I ordinarily fish every other weekend, usually Lewisville or Richland Chambers for whites & hybrids, but I'm anxious to get up to Texoma sometime this month for some topwater stripers.

Where do you usually fish, fatpratt?

Re: where are you from?

You can catch some pretty nice stripers here also. As well as the mighty warrior, walleye, bass, lake trout, cats, etc. Enjoy! Let me know when you are coming and if I am in the area maybe we can hook up and catch a few.

JS,

Yes, I was there Memorial Day weekend when my Dad's USAF 8th Air Force 351st Bomb Group attended the WWII Memorial ceremony.

It certainly is trendy if you go for that. I'm a little more on the rural end of life as far as crowds & places go. Didn't really care for the place.

Re: where are you from?

I usually fish Grapevine and Eagle Mountain but I think I have fished them as much as I possibly stand. I am usually out the door at 5:00 so I don't feel like trailoring too far. I am open to Lewisville now that there is far less traffic now. Where do you fish? I know there are a whole bunch of sandies on grapevine. Be kinda cool to meet up. Let me know, I might learn something from 'ya.
