1975-77 911 Porche Carrera. It was the first year produced and I was the Parts Dept Mgr. Took that baby around behind the RoseBowl, in Pasadena. Didn't have any time clocks but I had that thing from a standing start, up to 100 mph and back down to stop, within what seemed like a blocks distance. It was awesome. I felt like one of those guys you see goin round and round in a centrifuge.

1966 Chevy Impala SS, ran 12.9 in the 1/4 mile with my trick new engine.<br /><br />1996 Chevy Camaro Z28, ran 13.3 in the 1/4 mile. Had it up to 155+ MPH and have the pic to prove it. <br /><br />Ken

I think this should be in 2 catagories (aerodynamic and not). <br />* For a newer car it's (my little sister's) 2003 Corvette. It'll do over 170 mph and 0-60 in 4.6.<br />* For older units my buddy Johnny's pro street '30 Model A pickup with a supercharged 383 (tubbed w/glide and a Halibrand q.c.) is easily the quickest vehicle I've ever been in. It would've left Milner waaaaaay behind! <br /><br />hehe... I guess the Vette would have too.

2004 Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo.<br />240kmph (150mph) on the road from Queenstown to Te Anau. In New Zealands South Island.<br />Kept it up for a while.<br />Ross

A 57 chevy fiberglass front clip with a 302 chevy yes a 302 chevy built to 710 hp what a screemer for only 2 weeks then I was taken off the road you were only aloud 550 hp it was fun while it lasted But street legal was my 64 Laurentain PONT 11 second car sweet sleeper

I got to drive a late 60's Dodge Super Bee with that 440 engine. I remember coming out of 3rd going over 140. As I put it into 5th I was getting very close to a traffic light and started down shifting and braking. I never did see what I topped out at but the ride was a blast.<br /><br />Had a '66 Fairlane with a 289 that would run over 135. Drove from Orlando to Port Canaveral on the Bee Line toll road in about 15/20 minutes. The first time I went over one of the overpasses went airborne. Only did that once. After that I also would always slow down to 110/115 for the overpasses.

63 Chevy Biscayne, 327-300 HP, 3 Speed on the column. Simply flew. Named the Grandpa's Grey. Cousin owned it. What a ride!

1. 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage I. Backed off when the speedo buried. 140++<br /> <br />2. Lincoln Mark VIII (4.6L 4 valve) Speed limiter disabled. Clocked at 173.<br /><br />#1 on the "street".<br /><br />#2 on a "controlled" course.

Got 2, First one was mine: 70 Plymouth Road Runner 440 Six Pac, 4 Speed 4.10 Posi Use to shift from 3rd to 4th at 100 MPH. <br />Second was a Dodge Viper talk about fun.

<br /><br />I've posted this once before.<br /><br />1969 Camaro, 355 small block, blower, NOS, tubbed, 1/2 roll cage, approx 950HP on nitrous, fairly consistent 10 second 1/4 miles at 150mph. And yes, it's actually street legal (barely) and licensed. Many show trophies are just icing on the cake. All body, mechs, and paint done in the garage in spare time over the course of 5 years...motor has a couple ring issues and needs a rebuild right now, but it's still running reasonably strong...just afraid to give it too much bottle-juice until it's properly refreshed. May bore it out a bit more during the rebuild??? Still thinking about that.

Limited-Time,<br /><br />My best friend had a '70' Cuda 440-6. Still has it! I couldn't take him (with the Buick) on the hole shot, but I could outrun him! He was gearbound. The Buick had REALLY long legs.<br /><br />Dear God, I can't believe how fast I used to run on the tires of that era.

Not as exotic as some of the cars you guys are talking about, but the fastest car I ever drove was a 1988 Shelby Omni. It just had a 4 cylinder engine but it was light, turbocharged and intercooled and it would scream down the road.<br />Here's what they looked like.<br />

Drove a Mercedes Benz ML55 AMG that is good for 150+ but didn't go over 70. Amazing truck.<br /><br />Fastest I ever went on the open road was 120, last week, in my ML430. I was amazed at how stable it is. Had to pass a draft of trucks with a draft of fast cars bearing down on me. Slowed back to 80 after I got by and the car draft whizzed by me at 90-95.

Geez, JB.<br /><br />I Take my '05' F-150 well over 100 regularly, passing those pesky snowbird motorhomes on the way to Las Vegas. Highway 93-95.<br /><br />I love blowing by; motorhomes, compact cars, etc. POWER is not an issue.<br /><br />I've buried the speedo (120+) several times. That's with 18" tires/wheels (stock). I know they're not "speed rated". <br /><br />Next time we meet up, we'll "run em".

1967 Plymouth Valiant with 440 and auto.<br /><br />8.2 sec in 1/4 mile at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ.<br /><br />It ran consistant 8.6 sec., but the fastest was I ran it was 8.2 sec., once. Unfortunatly, I broke.<br /><br />Finished 3rd in points that year.

First was a 1989 MR2 supercharged. Fastest regular production car 0-30 mph in 1989. It was a blast.<br />Next was my mildly improved '95 Eagle Talon Tsi all wheel drive turbo. I had many a Mustang GT very angry at me. One time on I-17 southbound just north of Phoenix I hit 150 mph at 5000 rpm. Redline was 6500. Never made it to top gear redline. I miss that car... but it couldn't tow a boat!
