The evidence may not be lost. Remember they just fired their computer Guy and now don't have the expertise to eliminate the data.

lets try and keep this one from going down hill guys.

at the very least, this is a good gut check for any one dealing with company rules vs moral obligations

Tim, I simply asked what others would do. If you don't care to answer that's your choice. Have a nice day...

And I'm just saying, if you really have to ask, then perhaps the question should be "What should I do?"
You have a nice day as well.

Re: What would YOU do?

i fully understand the back lash of a large company being caught with one bad apple...

i also understand the position of the company doing the work, and the possibility of a whistle blower in the ranks.

but in this case...i would rather see my company go down than let a kid get hurt in that way by someone who may be progressing further into deviance.

it is illegal to draft a contract that is requiring someone to break criminal code.

Re: What would YOU do?

It could be that both the worker who had the stuff on his computer and the general manager are both into it.

They might even be into making the stuff. Nothing would stop a decent caring human from reporting the whole situation.

Pathetic if you didn't. You can shove any job up your a.. If it comes down to stopping this stuff from going on. Any respectful employer/contractor would gladly hire someone who has dobbed in anyone in for that crap. It's doubtful enough people who matter wouldn't understand it wasn't the whole company at fault, but just one bad apple, like others have mentioned.

If one of my kids was effected by these low life's and I found out you cared more for your job than some kids, I'd be buying a ticket over to the US and paying you a visit I guarantee it.

*Edit* I'd come over just to talk about it, of course.

It's totally bizarre to me that reporting this all isn't automatic

Canning and or locking up a dozen or more bad apples will only improve the company. I'm sure I'm not the only one here owning stock in some of Forbes 500. Roll the heads.
