Canucks VS Blackhawks!
Game 4
Canucks, Well they got their "BUTTS" handed to them after that game last night :facepalm:, at least they're playing at home next game and I hope they are mad after their performance last night!!!!!!!

I'm really good with the result despite the clear loss. This is exactly what the canucks need to go through and as importantly...what the canuck fans need to go through.
Which is the 'belief' in their team....finally. They now can put the fear of a single loss meaning much behind them rather than it always being the 'oh oh, here we go' from days gone by which is (was?) the hallmark of a being a canucks fan. Now, it's time to be confident, cool and capable.
They just have to keep their heads down and stick to their game. They are the best team in the league right now....and they are going to get a chance shortly to prove it.
Let's stick with 'em and keep the belief alive.
All Good

If I remember right, (and I do) this is the same speech you gave for the Canadians in the world juniors,
and see how well that worked for them against the Russions  :D

Excellent point Rob.....but I do believe this. I personally really like pressure situations myself and as such I'm not prone to too much panic around these kinds of things.
They have a great opportunity to wipe out the fear and re-stamp who they are and I think we are going to see a great game back in Vancouver with the Canucks really pressing.
Anyone I talked with a week ago guessed that Chicago was going to win at least 1 game....so based on that we are right on track.;)

Come on Ken, anyone who plays the Wings? I guess that's the price you pay for being successful for years. Despite a 3-0 lead over Phoenix (hoping it ends tonight) I still don't see my boys going too far this year.

I agree with BP that the beating the Canucks took might help them (truth be told they are the only Canadian team I want to see win until Quebec and Winnipeg are back in the league). They'll now realize that going through the motions isn't gonna cut it no matter how much talent they have.
That San Jose pick of mine is looking kinda sketchy at the moment. I mean if you have to play run and gun with LA minus Kopitar you have some serious defensive issues.

What I've found most interesting thus far is who vastly different each series is with regard to the style being played. Extreme variance in the type of defensive pressure as well as offensive systems in each series across both conferences. I suppose though in the days of parity that's a good thing.

I to hope that Vancouver takes the next game. Last night game just was horrid. We looked like a AAA team on the skids. Mind you the smack down by Kesler was fun to watch.

I root more against Wings' fan, who are usually even more despicible than the team's players. Usually.

Can the Pens finish the series in 5???? Gotta rest up after the 2 overtimes last night ... robbed me of some of my sleep, but worth it since Neal put the winning puck in the net! Would have been cranky and irritable today if it had gone the other way!

@ken, yeah i knew what you were going for, I figured I'd throw you a strike for your trolling efforts.

@tilliamwe, well played sir, i feel the same about the fans of many teams myself. But for me it's all good fun and like to think I can be both a fan and an objective observer.

Been to the "Joe" to watch Wings versus Leafs and also a handfull of other games, also to the ACC to watch the same match up. In Toronto it's always a friendly rivalry with the opposing fans while having a beer in the bar, chatting in the stands or talking on the way in or out of the game. At the Joe it always appears to be an out and out hatred of the opposition and their fans. Not by everyone there but it certainly is the majority. Right down to leaving the parking lot !!!!
Please don't take this as a knock against all Wings fans but just an observation by someone that attends a handfull of games each season for business purposes that lives less than an hour from the Canada USA border at Detroit / Windsor.

Re: What, No Hockey Thread!!!

ok funny story about the Redwings...

My defensive line mate and me have been close friends for about ten years, I am a die hard Avalanche Fan and he being from Michigan a die hard Redwings fan, well I had at the time great season tickets(4th row 7 seats off center ice) to the Avalanche and I would take my buddy to at least one Redwings game a year here at the Pepsi Center. Well after several years my buddy tells me he is going to pay me back and take me to Detroit to see the Avalanche take on the Wings at the Joe, I tell him no way not on your life!! Hes like why not? I tell him that were not allowed to carry our guns in Detroit!! Without missing a beat he looks at me and tells me "Your right were safer here at the Pepsi Center!" I lost my beer looked at him like DUDE your a WINGS FAN TOO!!!

I would always get a bit of grief from the fans here in Colorado taking my buddy in his Chelios Wings jersey and me in my home Foote Jersey, to a Avalanche Wings game but we never felt we were mistreated and I bet things would be the same in Detroit......I think!!
