For the depth finder sensor are you using the same hole by chance? The only two things on the hull that are visible, are the Drain, and the Pitot Pickup

On my SX 195 the Pitot is mounted on the Starboard side, and a bit closer to the Centerline, the Depth Finder Sensor

Thanks! Where would you route the wire through to the front panel instruments? I'm not quite sure if my sx 175 has any holes in the transom to route it through.Wrap a piece of wood in fiberglass, scuff bonding area and glue with resin/glass. Paint or gelcoat. Then screw to wood. No holes in transom and if wood goes bad just grind off that little piece and replace
They are mounted separately. A bit of Sealer and the holes are water tight. Where they are mounted on my Hull, there is no Wood to rot.For the depth finder sensor are you using the same hole by chance?
Unless your into hard core fishing, I would recommend a simple, glue in place, shoot thru installation which requires no holes at all.I'm trying to install a fish finder, but don't want to drill holes. Any suggestions?
Me too.I used a Stern Saver for mine. You can Google it, iBoats doesn't sell it. It's a small block that you adhere to the hull and then mount to that block. I decided I didn't want to put holes in my hull, so I used that.
I'm leaning to the Stern Saver method.Me too.
Stern Saver is great and it comes with everything you need for mounting it. No holes at all in your transom.
Where in the hull would I put it on the sx 175? Do you know where a good location would be?Unless your into hard core fishing, I would recommend a simple, glue in place, shoot thru installation which requires no holes at all.
If a hard core guy, go with the tilted element, solution from Airmar.
Most people (I think) put a hole above the waterline and bring the cable in through that hole. I opted to just bring mine up and over the gunwale and run it behind one of the stern jump seats. In my case, it's hidden pretty well, doesn't get in the way and I didn't have to drill any holes in the hull (which I preferred). So do you guys just drag the line inside the boat with the line exposed?
Not familiar with your particular boat but generally speaking, your looking at 12-18" fore of the transom, offset from the keel (Radius of prop)+3-4"Where in the hull would I put it on the sx 175? Do you know where a good location would be?
Ah ok, so I suppose that was factory right? I doubt I can use that same Speedo hole to route both the hose and the transducer wire?My sx195 at rest. The Speedo hose, and the Depth Finder wire were both routed through above the water line, just Port of the Outdrive, below the Tow Eye. Also mounted in the area is a Switch added so I could Operate the Trim Pump when behind the boat.
