If you buy a 2009 model motor made in 2006 and it has a warranty and performs as it should and you are happy with it then you'd be best off not knowing when it was made. Sort of like asking your wife how many men she slept with before she met you. It wont change who she is now but might change how you look at her. I'm sure Yamaha doesn't make every single part in their motors at the same time either. Imagine if every part had a date stamp on it. That would raise a few eyebrows. <br />When you buy spare parts for your motor it's quite likely that they are older than the parts that have worn out!

Just built in deception by manufacturer using dealer as an accessory. Salesmen and polititions....."what are ya goina do" Reminds me of the Cadillacs with Chevy engines. I get it and I'm done.

Mike,<br /><br />They just made a set screw for that 225 TLDI...We are getting closer! I hear that next month they are going to buy some starter brush's too! Just in time for Christmas.
