The best thing to do on an older model like this would be to load the boat normally, and tow it to a truck scale.
Most rockeries measure the vehicle weight, then add the load. They charge by the pound (increased over the trucks empty weight) Sometimes they'll let you weight your boat/trailer as a courtesy. Otherwise, they'll charge you a minor fee. Try to go when they're not busy.
This way, you'll know what your vehicle is up against.
My 2556 is listed as 5200 lbs. Which is a joke. Read into that measurement and you find that 5200 is the hull weight w/o the engine, fuel or trailer. It seems they purposely made it look like less than it really was. With the engine, fuel, gear and trailer, the 2556 is more like 9000 lbs. A dangerous load for all but the most stout of trucks. Your trailer brakes have to be absolutely right with this much weight or you'll jack knife your first stop.
