I just purchased this boat a few months ago and have just got the motor running good and it just seems to be very heavy. The hull has some damage to the bottom of the boat and the foam is waterlogged. I know what has to be done to fix this back correctly but the boat is not worth that much to me. So what my question is what would be the best way to reduce the weight of this boat and fiberglass it back to get me through until I can find another hull? The dory is like a boston whaler so Im thinking that the foam is also structural. Is this right? Is there anything I can do to put a bandaid on it until I find another boat? Was thinking about cutting hole in bottom and pulling out as much wet foam as I can and putting something back in there for support. Will this work or will I just sink my motor lol, thanks
