Amazing how far that boat went what appeared to be perfectly straight. I fall out of my boat, and it's going to circle around and run over me in pretty short order.......

NFB steering will hold whatever rudder you set it at. It's pretty nifty.

the motor ran for 60 seconds dry at WOT. Now we know. You don't need muffs. (kidding)

I don't understand how all 3 passengers drivers could get thrown out. I have that boat. Not going to test the theory though.

BTW 80 gallon tank. Could go a right far piece, unmanned.

Re: Watch it, run away boat!

I was wondering if they caught up with the boat before it hit, Would they have salvage rights??

Why is everyone talking about salvage rights? How would you feel if you flew out of your boat, and it kept going and someone was nice enough to chase it and kill the motor before it seizes, and then they keep it?

It was meant as a joke when I said it!!

Some years back, a 32 ft Contender smuggling Cuban migrants and running from the Marine Patrol, Customs and Sheriffs Dept ran up on our beach in the Keys. I tried to claim salvage rights as the above agencies pulled the boat back into the water and towed it away. It was a nice boat and no owner to claim it. I was politely told "NO!":(

Guess what any towing company would do, claim salvage and sell it back to you for 10% of the market value. I would be nice enough get them, but being stupid should hurt. Just think about the little kill switch lanyard, and how that could have been avoided.

They should have totally stuntmanned that...

I would have pulled along side and jumped boat to boat, and tried to take control... they could have saved the boat a horrible death... and worse case maybe gotten a little rub-rail bump... (and maybe a nice reward :) ) It looked like it was running pretty darn straight.

Then again, I'm kinda crazy like that LOL

On a serious note, hope the owners who were thrown are ok, and sorry to see how their boat got trashed... :(

exactly, can't understand why they didn't hop onboard.

No way, no time, no how about trying to get onboard. But I was thinking while watching 'Why not try to safely cross bow with a rope to foul to prop!

not a bad idea to foul the prop with a line but at that speed it might just cut it.

And no, you can't jump from one boat to another at that speed and chop. ALso it looked like the filming guys were trying to catch it and couldn't.

You can hear what sounds like the coasties on the radio when they get to the boat.

Did you notice the boat crossing in front of the runaway? It was a long way away but still....

You come up along side and throw a plank across. I've seen it in countless movies, piece of cake.

Chuck Norris would have just mentally made it stop.

I have to imagine they screamed some profanities at the boat driver and then,,,well, I would pay to see the expression on their faces when they saw nobody at the helm.

Clint Eastwood would have put a round in the engine block. Not a bad option in this situation. The owner's boat would be OK; he gets the engine block replaced and has a cool bullet hole in the cowl to show his friends!

I hate to be a kill joy, but for all you folks that have a safety lanyard Please use it ! I was unfortunate enough to help pull a dead 5 yr. old out of the river after everyone was dumped out and the boat ran over the child. I still see the torn up kid everytime I go to the boat dock.
