Warning buzzer

45 Merc. Jet, continuous buzzer going off when the key is turned to the on position while sitting the garage.

When you disconnect the 2 blue wires that come from the sensor in the bottom of the oil tank the buzzer stops.

Replaced the sensor with a new one, buzzer still sounds????

Any ideas is there something I need to reset or is there something else???

Magnet fell off the float and is sitting on the bottom of the tank triggering the buzzer. Drain the tank and check for the magnet.

Thanks that was the problem, new tank on its way. Why does this happen?
