Using a 5 inch sander/polisher on gelcoat

Is this a feasible tool to use for this? If not, how much power or what type of tool is more appropriate? I want to bring out the shine in the finish.

I used a cheapy 6 inch polisher/buffer (auto polish section) and 3M Fiberglass/gelcoat restorer (sporting goods boat stuff section) both from walmart. Cost a grand total of about $25 and brought a great shine back to the finish on mine. Dont use anything with a high rpm in a circular motion as you'll burn through. <br /><br />Hoping someone with more experiance will chime in here.
