Well I just went through this thought process on my Smokercraft with the 115 Yamaha 4 stroke.
Had some health issues and surgery 3 summers ago and haven't ran the boat since.
Gas was always non ethanol and stabilized.
25 gallons in the 30 gallon tank.
Getting the boat ready to take out again and drained all the fuel out last Saturday so have 5-5gallon cans full of what looks and smells like good gas.
BUT I feel good about putting fresh in and have no remorse over the $ loss.
Wasn't worth the risk for me.
I'm not sure how I'm getting rid of it yet but have a co-worker with a carbed VW bus and he says he'll use it.
I like the jar test!
I'll have to try it.
