I have 2 pieces of 3/4 in plywood cut to for my transom. I an getting ready to glue them together. I plan on using polyester resin. Coat both pieces well, give it a little time to soak in and load up a second coat. Then put them together. Is there any reason I shouldn't use a lot of screws to suck the 2 pieces of plywood together ? Along with a lot of clamps.

Should a guy mark and cut the hole for the leg before or after he glues the plywood to the transom?

Any other advice would be appreciated brfore I tackle this job.
Thanks for reading my post.

I would use tite-bond III between the two pieces of plywood. I used PB last full transom job, however been using just the tite-bond III since then.

then screw together until the glue dries

after that, I normally mark up the key-hole after sandwiching, then cut out prior to glueing to transom with PB

resin by itself wont work as well as PB or tite-bond III

you really need to go to the DIY stickies at the top of the forum and you need to read links 14, 15, 18, 2, 3, 4a, and 4b in that exact order.
