transom removed today

I removed my transom on 14ft aluminum boat today and it was 2 and a quarter inches look liked they used 3 pieces of plywood with the arsinic in it the aluminum was fine just brown luckly it was like mulch well its the same thickness as this wood we use to use as walkboards on scaffolds you know the wood they use as headers on a garage its like little thin wood glued together and wont bend for nothing and is real thick and slick im thinking about useing that i think its so thick cause the board is only 10 inches wide well i dont know how they got the wood in there before without useing ribit gun to put back can i use screws and bolt instead of ribits cause i dont have a gun and could probly do better putting back the L brackets with bolts stainless any info be great

Pictures work as well as, or better than words.

CCA (arsenic) plywood doesn't turn to mulch because it can't rot.

Your transom was probably only 2" thick to begin with, but swelled to 2 1/4" when it got wet and rotted, measure the width of the inside of your transom cap for the proper thickness to put back.

Rivet setting tools aren't expensive and everyone that owns an aluminum boat should own one, but stainless steel hardware will work fine.

By the way like your avatar but ill probly be deleting everything ill just have to do everything without any tips looks like no one likes my silly questions you might think im silly too from my 110 thread. But thanks for helping out ill know in the future just to agree or get humiliated
