Gee, my 21footer DC has two full size windshields plus a hinged portion that fills the void between them. The dual consoles are sufficient to protect from rain and wind. In November, and that makes all the difference. The bow is still open to cast and jig, when you are stopped.
If you want to go out in really cold weather, you could be a big wheel and make a simple canvass dodger for the space between the windshield and the deck. Maybe 1 yard of some fabric.
Also, for max protection you could get a navy top or a camper top. The navy top is like a Bimini, but lower. connects to the windshield to keep spray out. The camper top connects the Bimini top to the windshield with clear stuff.
It beats the heck out of a CC for bad days....more seating, more comfort, at least IMO.
