Okay so I just put a new trim motor on my 2006 evenrude 70hp 4 stroke etech, and the tilt trim makes like a noise when all the way at the top or all the way at the bottom, when I push it all the way down with my foot it then it work until I try to out it all the way up, I’ve attatched a video. Any help would be appreciated

4 stroke etech?

It's E-tec.... and it's the finest 2 stroke outboard ever made.

Your download wouldn't play well when I download the video but common thing on that motor is if the big clamp nut isn't torque correctly you get that nasty sound.

Check the big nut on the end of your tilt tube and over torque a little if need be.

When BRP took over OMC they cleaned up their tolerances and shifted many of their rotax designs to the E-tec....or so I was told when I purchased my first one in 2011.

Either way it's not a 4 stroke as the poster is saying.

Ok so I’m not trying to figure out what motor it is, it’s a 2006 evenrude 70hp 4 stroke. Just trying to fix the problem

well if the tilt tube is greased the T&T seals likely need servicing.

on my 2005 75hp ETEC...the T&T unit needed a rebuild.(failure to raise)

see utubes...someone likely done it for you to see..

Crosby, were you able to see his video because I couldn't.

My E-tec did it and this was all over e-nation at the time. Tightening the not made mine go away. Barnacle bill has much to offer in advice for the guy.

yes I saw video .. funny noise for certain ... mine always was noisy (screechy) at both max high and max low but ... that just tells me it reached it's maximum position. after my rebuild I never had trouble but it still screeches
when maxed out

When my 115 E-tec....did it, it was going on for a year and I thought it was my bushings for sure but I read that at the E-tec site and bingo it fixed it.

Poster never said he tried it so I'll just let this go.

Thanks for the reply.

Wonder why I can't watch the video....strange.
