Tilt pump question

Hey, bought this boat, 1974 duo challenger 18 with a mercruiser 140 inboard engine. Not too familiar with the old girl so any help would be appreciated.
Is the tilt pump supposed to have a reservoir attached to the bottom? And also, what are the 2 pieces that are attached via hydraulic lines? TIA

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... There's a screw in the top of the squarish section to add oil,.....
The other bits are a reverse lock, 'n trim indicator,...

I know it's electric over hydraulic but does the engine need to be running to operate the trim pump?

No trim pump works regardless of engine on or off direct wired to battery usually off the starter positive cable
