Sorry if the images are large, I just wanted to get a detailed view of what's going on...
****

It's cheap...$650 bucks. It's a 1972 Winner with a 70 HP Chrysler motor. The owner emailed me after I asked some questions about the hull and told me that the hull had been damaged by the previous owner that didn't have it set on the trailer right. Here is the picture of the damage before he "fixed" it.

Here is what he did to it...

The owner also repaired something else, but not sure what..

Here is a full view of the boat.

What do you guys think of the fix?

Sorry about that. I wanted them a little larger, but you're right, that was a little ridiculous.

Re: Thinking of buying a boat...

now that i can see it, i would say there are a lot better boats out there for that money. the chrysler is getting harder and harder to get parts. the repair work, is a complete joke. and will have to be totally redone. the trailer is rusting, and condition questionable.

I agree. From the places I've searched, it's tough to find a decently priced boat around here that isn't full of surprises.

Wow..makes me feel good about my restoration project. Craigslist in CT has 5-6 nice boats for under 1k. 3 tri hulls like that orange one..Ready for water..

Yeh but CT is a good state for used boats, as is NY and RI.
Got my center console from CT. I'm in Boston.

Re: Thinking of buying a boat...

Some thoughts...

* Obviously, the hull is a major rehab!

* One of the pics shows where water has been dripping... That's probably going to mean replacing the deck, stringers, foam, transom, etc.

* The trailer isn't horrible and can probably be cleaned up. (Mine is much worse, but still salvageable.)

* Not sure about the motor... Does it run? What's its compression, etc.?

* Does the owner have all the paperwork? (Title, etc.)

If I were looking at that, and if I really liked the boat, and the motor runs, and I was willing to put in a solid winter's worth of spare time and $2K, and the seller had the title... I'd offer $50.

Otherwise, head for the hills!

Deleted the last post, going to start a new thread that isn't in the restoration and building section. Sorry about that.
