You think you found the problem at the tank ? If it's not the line or tank it must be the fuel pump ?
That picture is really making me want to put my boat in up at Lake Shasta and I hope to do just that very soon.

Everything fuel related gets cleaned, replaced or rebuilt on my motors and this one got the works too. One cool tool I got to help with this is a cable tie gun as those fuel lines can be a bugger to get the ties tight in their odd locations. So just in case you guys didn't know you don't use regular cable ties for the lines, they have special ones that have a curved buckle to match the round line.

Got to the bunks for the new trailer, glued and screwed tight. Decided to only deal with 2 bunks this time for this trailer. I think they'll be plenty sturdy, yeah non-treated 4x4 with a 2x6 glued and screwed to the top.

Good Lord what do you plan on putting on that trailer ! Dang looks like it would support a tank so no worries about supporting the boat .

The sacrifice for having a rust free inside and out heavy duty galvanized trailer is to loose 6" of trailer body so I'll have to come up with some ideas for the boat buckles and hang the monster bunks 6" off the back.

Got the extra 2' of tongue added with a steel weld on Fulton fold away hinge. Hurking tower in place, it needs to be full forward to get as much boat on as possible. New coupler, winch, jack, safety chains, wiring and LED taillights.

I also pulled the greasy leaking wheel off, spindle was in great shape, bearings looked new but... the seal was shot and a spedi-sleeve that was on the seal surface just fell off. Bearings greased and new seal put in. I'll be swapping my new hubs and alloy wheels/tires to this galvanized trailer.

Ahhh yes , galvanized is soooo much better and the fact that it's a good looking trailer don't hurt either .

 Yeah single bunk with just a 2x6 would eventually sag on me so I upped the ante on these bunks, they shouldn't sag on me. They're pretty darn heavy too, hope there's not too much moisture inside otherwise the coatings won't stay on down the line.

You could drive your truck on those..
Trailer looks great. Did you weld the hinge on?
May have to look into adding one to my trailer..

Those are some stout bunks.

Looks like your trailer jack is under the boat. Maybe it's just an illusion.

You do great work.

Yeah stout was the goal using just 2 bunks, I did weld on the hinges.

Thanks Ted, yeah the tongue on the original trailer was not long enough to put the jack on it so it got put on the side rail like I did the new one but I think I can move it to the tongue on this one and not have the crank hit the tower.

Not much compliance in those bunks. What are you going to cover them with?

If the bunk doesn't match the bottom of the hull perfect (hard to do), either the bunk or the hull will deflect to match - I'd rather have the bunk conform to the hull.

Example - I made a skid to drag a fishing boat up at our place, even though the hull is mostly flat, it had a poor contact patch.

I see, well I've never heard of that being an issue before.

I think you'll find roller trailers causing more damage to tin hulls than bunks ever will, sure they conform I guess but cause dents and ripples with their 1" contact area, they also break rivet heads. The 2x6's I normally use don't conform to anything either but will sag sooner of later loosing support in the centers if not using 4 and then it will just take longer. Got the 4x4 idea from the heavy double AL hull work boat trailer, it has 4 - 4x6's but the boat is a few thousand pounds heavier.

The bunks and side bunks all sealed and carpeted. The behemoths don't look so huge now once mounted. Inner fender shields cut from .080 AL with solid riveted brackets.

I took off the galvanized wheels to clean them up and found this  Off to the tire store for new tires, no way I'd sell the old trailer to someone with that sidewall damage and have them possibly loose their boat due to a catastrophic failure at highway speeds. People most times appreciate new things, tires and hubs on trailers since we've all passed that guy along the highway with a spindle showing.

 I'm thinking the PO did that gash but I did have have that trailer up in the bowels of the county dump giving that old rotten glasser it's last rights.

The bunks are substantial alright and other than new carpet down the road, they should hold up for a very long time.

Rob, the trailer looks great but, are you selling it or keeping it?

Yeah I'm keeping the galvanized trailer, always wanted a trailer that has no issues with rust or paint.

The carpet made a big difference in the appearance. They look very professional.
Been there and done that with bad tires. Good to hear you care about the next owner..
