Well, here it is.....the fruits of my labor. Sorry for the bouncing, the lake was pretty rough. But, at about 27 sec in you can hear me tell my dad (driving) to give it the juice, thats when it got bouncy. Motor is running
awesome!

Yes. You're not on my mental "projects that will never see the water" list.

Well that is good news!

We've got a ramp on the Grand river that is open 365 days a year since the river never freezes;)

Bring a warm pair of gloves and a ski mask, November offers great boating here in Mich:D

I'm not afraid to boat when it's snowing:D

I remember a winter storm a while back, dumped over a foot in an evening while were canoeing the Pine. After our all day paddle we made quinzee snow shelters to sleep in that night. That was pretty cool:cool:

Re: The official 2011 Starcraft outings on the water picture thread

Standard operating procedures for us crazies

Since I'm a Minor Water Deity and regularly pay homage to Poseidon all is cool and happiness

Not to be attempted at home with anything less than the kind of extensive water experience possessed by all in attendance

Most of the kids there could have swum across this lake and are used to very cold water - the Mammalian diving reflex is what kills most sportsmen when they fall into cold water and take a lungful - I lecture my buddies on this

The canoes look overloaded but are mostly filled with empty containers as we had used up the food beer ,and Dry ice.

I was a canoe tripping guide , a ski patroller, lifeguard and lumberjack , trackside marshall, security guard etc - catch the theme of safety?

The heavy stuff is in the bilge of the Islander and she was mucho stable - checked it before we left.

If there was any question of stability there would have been two trips

Loving concern is graciously appreciated

One of my mottos is "Nobody dies on MY watch"

HEY GUYS look ... I made it. Just in time to figure out how the cover goes on.

I know the paint is still wet... the 5200 is still gooey... the vinyl/carpet adhesive is still tacky. But I made it. So heres a pic:

Congrats. I knew you could do it. Paint looks good to me. At least you got it off the trailer. Better than my first attempt. And hopefully we've both got a lot more time for pics.

Don"t you guys just love those old jJhnson motors Got one on my Glasser ( I Know ) for the river and low water. had a 69 -3 cyl selectric shift and went to the motor doc as it would not crank with the starter. I picked it up today good as new and He even removed and cleaned the carbs and reset the floats total tune up and only $250. the boat with the 69 ,55 hp and a 6 hp Johnson, fish stuff and a very good trailer now has$ 550 dollar total investment. You would think I was back East.

Thanks guys..........

Ya Puget... the older OBs are tanks.... like my Johnson. I found it cheap... and it probably sat for years, put some new plugs in it and it started right up without a hiccup ;) Cross fingers... I hope to get several good years of service out of it :D
