if you have an excuse, please share it here. If no one posts, that'll be my excuse for this not being very good reference material. A guy once told me I had more excuses than his wife :facepalm: but it seems I'm running out :lol:
I didn't hear you, my earplugs were in backwards...

I've never met a boater that didn't have an excuse for everything and anything under the Sun, but in so far, you guys have proved me wrong :lol:

I knew with this cold front coming through I wouldn'’t catch anything but it was the first I could get out in a week.

the weather gets used a lot - too hot too cold too windy or not... Was never my fault! Nor my Jim Dandy lure, the fish were on vacation, whatever... My outboard isn't running... it is NOT my fault!

^^^ that's some of the "why" it's called fishing.... and not called "catching"!!! Fishermen/people tend to have lots of excuses as to why, but this thread isn't excluded to just fishing; i.e., someone is always late and always, there is an excuse - self included :eek:

Speaking of fishing though.... The Bass had been biting real good lately and was hooking up the boat to go again. I do like company and he's a nice enough guy, but.... not going into that. He walks up with a big grin "going fishing?"
Nah, seems like my truck gets better gas mileage when I pull the boat. Gonna drive to Atlanta and back, then check my mileage. Won't get back until after dark; wanna ride?

Actually I really wasn't trying to catch any fish. I was chasing them to other areas for others to catch!

I was merely testing out a new rod and reel setup, not fishing.

An excuse other than for fishing....

Had welder working for me knce. He told me that it was too dark to weld. Kind of ironic since welders typically wear full face shileds with dark lenses.

been welding for just shy of forty years, and there's a legitimate reason for that. Maybe not for me welding that long :facepalm: but I want to see what I'm fixing to strike an arc on. Otherwise, you can mess up a whole lot of material and possibly do a lot of damage.

And with a speed lense, you need good lighting to start with... and while I'm at it :lol: you might have hit the Mother Load!!
Daggone Welders!! We are the Champions of the World! when it comes to excuses! :D

I get excuses from people all the time when it comes to going on the boat. Who doesn't want to go out on a nice day and enjoy it? It is a nice 20' bowrider with lots of power. I have heard it all. The worst one is "I need to clean the house".

I have selective hearing, at least according to the Admiral. She may be right, it seems to be getting where I don't respond when I don't want to. :eek:

my answer to that response
[h=1]Dust If You Must[/h]
by Rose Milligan
[h=2]Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, and the wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.[/h]

My hearing's OK, I just have selective speaking issues; which includes talking when I shouldn't :facepalm: it's funny though, because I quit taking things so seriously. Most things just aren't that important

My excuse now for just about everything I do is "I'm 76 ##@# years old. What the #@#@ did you expect!"

dwco5051 your excuse has stuck with me some today cos I'm getting there; and in retrospect, all I may have ever proved in responding in such manner was that I knew more cuss words than them!! And that I knew how to use those words effectively and appropriately(?) :lol:

Think it was Bruce Willis once said he only spoke two languages, English and Bad English!
When we call "customer service", there should also be a prompt "Press #* for Bad English!! Or press # repeatedly for immediate transfer to "THE SPECIALIST" !! Or someone in authority that can fix the problem over the phone. JMHO :pound:
