Ok- back to it for 2012- day 1.
Today the mission was to sand some the bottom coat to dig out a few blisters, sand and paint the outdrive, and remove excess silicone around all windows and ports. Here are a few pics.

I picked up my epoxy filler and interprotect 2000 at the end of the day today. the blisters are on the stern starboard side. As you can see in one of the pics, my VHF antenna is a little limp- from being snapped in the boathouse last year. I picked up a new one of these today too.
The Buff magic, pro polish and polisher is working well on the gelcoat.....oh yeah I also removed the remainder of the pinstiping I wanted off...

Re: The Doral Project (89 Cavalier)

Hey looks good that interprotect is the cats azz . I used it to coat my ski locker , gas tank area and bilge area after my restoration. I decided to do this as I know it has more flexiblility then gelcoat and more waterproofing capabilities then gelcoat. I was really impressed with this stuff. Since my boat is only an 18 footer and trailered I am probably going to use gelcoat on the outside when I get a chance to flip it. BUT I am still on the fence though as I am use to the products I used when I use to do fiberglass manufacturing on a daily basis .In the last year after reading up and inquiring i have found there are alot of better products out there then gelcoat. I know people will argue this point but I am not getting into a debate...My decisions will be based on my requirements not what is best for someone else.
You are doing a fine job ..I will get back to my project after I get other issues organized. I am still hoping for a summer relaunch but with what was thrown at our family it is hard to say.

Cheers
