My hometown in Newfoundland had been cut off from the world since Hurricane Igor swept thru last week. They are getting low on food and fuel. The highway has 4 large washouts and it is the only route to the rest of the country. There's a lot of damage and many homes uninhabitable. My sister's driveway is now lowered by 3 feet. The federal government have now dispatched 140 engineers and equipment to assist in getting the roads open, as well as 3 war ships to bring supplies and assistance. The power is back on for most and phones are working. There are several pictures on the web. Google Hurricane Igor Burin Peninsula. I'm wondering how our buddy Tallcanadian made out. The storm went through his area as well.
