Yea, I understand working up a load. I reload for .223, 9mm and .40. I am setup to reload 30-30 and .270 also I just haven't yet because I don't shoot it enough. The lee book has the recommended loads I was just looking for what seems to work best.

As usual thumper, I, and others, have no idea what anybody posting on these forums are capable of doing. So we have to take the high road and go simplistic until we know otherwise. Since you do presently reload, then you do understand the precautions. Great! I use a lot of the IMR powders myself. I get excellent results with the 4350 powders for most standard rifle ammo. Accuracy and consistency are usual found with that powder in most Mouser size cartridges. And that covers 243, 270, 280, 308, 3006 and so on.

However, there are also excellent powders from other manufacturers as well. So try some of the others for your loads to see what your rifles like. Winchester Western makes some great powders as well. WW 748 is great in 223, and WW 760 is really good in 3006 rounds. And the fact that WW powders are spherical in shape, they do flow well through a powder drop as well. .

What I like to do is setup my powder drop to drop just shy of the exact weight, and then trickle charge the rest to perfect accuracy. It take a little longer, but the down range groupings are very nice indeed. JMHO!
