Any tips for taking out the floor on a 1750 Spectrum to replace rivets??

Why are you going to replace the rivits? Do the rivets need to be bucked and tightened?

Consider you might be able to tighten the rivets and not replace them. If you have a partial leak ...... tighten and use gluv-it. Just trying to save you a few bucks.

Thanks, taking rivets out cause we feel they are old and will eventually all need to be replaced, so doing them all at once makes more sense then doing them one by one(?). They are leaking, and the bilge pump is old...

Thanks for the links, but still wondering...

Are there secrets to getting the floor out? Doesn't seem to be screws in places to take out easily? Did the floor clip in, or does it have screws that have to be removed in hidden places? Does that make sense? Does the carpet have to be ripped up???

floor carpet has to come up, the plywood is riveted to the stringers. if they are in decent shape, you will have to drill them out and knock them thru, i used screws to reinstall mine deck.

Fair enough, just like the quick fix, you know. Will spend some time looking around.

Re: Taking out floor of 1750 Spectrum

Hey there,

Well, we took a better look last night and found these... hope you can see them in the picture. They are right where the boat sits on the trailer... can Gluv-It fix that, or should we be looking to weld the aluminum?

Thanks guys.
