Hey Baineyg...you've definitely had some horrible luck and you are certainly more patient than the average person. I truly hope Tahoe makes this right and you don't have any future problems.

Anyway...thanks for keeping everyone posted on your situation and good luck.

Hi Baineyg,

As BA stated, you have been very patient and I wish you the best of luck, as well. Please continue to keep us all posted.

Wow guys,

Just bought a new Q6 boat today. This evening was my first ride. I short one with the wind coming on strong. I was a little worried about hearing some of the horror stories. I really hope this boat works out well for me and my family. It's our first boat and we re so excited about enjoying it this summer.

Welcome to iBoats and to the boating world.

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure you and your family won't be disappointed with this boat.

This forum is great and you get quick responses from very knowledgeable, experienced people.

When you get a chance, post some pics!

Re: Tahoe No Haggle, No Hassle Prices

Hi all, 1st post on here. I just bought a new 07 Q8i and have had it out a few times. It's at the dealer now (Anna Point Boat Sales) for some warranty work. This thread has got me worried because one of my warranty issues is some small "spider web" like cracks in the hull. they're on the side right in front of the windshield (kind of where the fuel fill is, but on the other side of the boat) They looked like stress cracks to me, but the dealer didn't seem to worried about it and said they'd fix it.... Should I be worried??? This is our 1st boat and we love it so far. We saved about $8,000 by going with this "07 as opposed to buying an "08. It has the 5.0 MPI and seems to have plenty of power. Although, I haven't pushed it much due to the break-in limits.

Some spider-web like cracks in the gel coat is not that uncommon and is largely an aesthetic issue and not a structural problem. Do you have any pictures of the cracks that you can post? Do they appear to be surface cracks? Or do they go all the way down into the fiberglass or even through the fiberglass? I am no expert, but as I understand it, if it is just in the gel coat, you don't have much to worry about...

Congrats on the boat purchase...

Hey Tahoe...congrats on the purchase. I bought my Tahoe at Anna Point. Those guys are really great. Dee and Mandy are always so helpful whenever I call down there.

Do you go out on Lake Anna? I did for a while, but since it's warmed up, we are going to a lake over in WV. It's a little closer to home and a whole lot less crowded.

This is a good forum. Learned lots on here. Don't be afraid to ask, everybody is always ready to help.

Thanks Rod! Yeah, the people at Anna Point have been great. I've been dealing with Dee and Bill. Very helpful!

We've only put it at Lake Anna (it's about 15 minutes from the house), but we've been looking for other places. Where in WV?

Sometimes I hate going to these types of forums and reading all the negative stuff on things I've just spent a lot of money on. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Seems like a lot of good info on here, just need to ignore the negative things.

On top of that I just talked to one of my buddies, told him about the new boat. The 1st thing he said was, "Tell me you didn't get the 5.0 MPI! It's junk!" Whatever, I can't find anything but good reviews of it and it seems like a nice motor to me.

Just a little worried about those cracks in the hull...

I have the 4.3MPI and it has been nothing but a pleasure...runs great...cranks on the first turn everytime...still new, but no problems at all thus far...

I've got the 5.0 MPI and have had no problems whatsoever. I did get an audible warning out on the middle of the lake and found that my gear oil reservoir was really low. I now keep an extra bottle and other fluids in the boat for those just in case purposes.

I'm a little concerned about the cracks in the hull, too...But, I don't let it bother me because I know the dealer where I purchased it from will take good care of me if this problem does occur. It seems that the deck boats are experiencing this problem, though.

I have the 4.3L 220 hp V6 and love it. I haven't had a single problem with it.

I wouldn't worry too much about the negative stuff you read. You are going to have a bad apple every once in a while, and when one person has an issue and posts it on a web bulletin board, everybody becomes an instant "I'd sue if I were you." kind of person.

I was a bit concerned reading that one thread too, I had only had my boat a month or so. But I just ignored it and moved on.

We go over near Mt Storm in WV. It's not too far from Deep Creek Lake. I really like Lake Anna, but it gets too crowded for me. My wife and kids are all learning to drive a boat and getting familiar with all that goes with it, and they are much more comfortable on a Lake that doesn't have people passing on the left and right and cutting across your bow and generally not following the Rules of the Road I have been teaching them.

We will probably spend more time down there next year. I like having the marinas to pull into and the restaurant at the No Wake Zone. There is nothing on the two lakes we go to in WV. If you don't bring it, it's at least a 20-30 minute drive to find a place to buy it.

Re: Tahoe No Haggle, No Hassle Prices

Thanks all for the words of encouragement! Even though last weekend was our 1st time out with the boat (or any boat of our own for that matter) we love it and can't wait to get out again.

My engine does have a little longer crank time (hot or cold) than I would expect. Probably 2 seconds. It just doesn't fire up at the 1st touch of the key. You think this is normal? I haven't asked the dealer about it....

Rod, that lake sounds nice. I'll have to check it out. Lake Anna was pretty crowed and intimidating last weekend. Less people would be nice.

Hi T55,

The engine takes longer to crank over because its fuel injected (unlike carbureted engines). It takes awhile for the fuel pump to get gas to the engine. You might want to try turning the key until the noise from the fuel pump stop and then crank the engine over.
