I have a 1993 mercury 90 hp on a pontoon. My problem is my tach will not go to zero and just starts reading from where it stopped last time.I know it is not accurate just by the sound. It has no zero adjustment on the back.It may stop on 2 or 3000 and just start there. Thanks for your help.

What happens when you throttle down to idle, say 750 or so?

Re: tach help

When you turn the key on and before you start the motor it should fall to 0. If its not doing this then the tach is bad.
