Hey guys I'm most likely in the next1-2 months going to get my t-top recanvased. The original is heavily sun beached and leaks water like a strainer does any one know about what I could expect cost wise this may cost seems to be just a typical top nothing fancy and does the color make a difference I was told to use sunbrella canvas too is that much more?

Re: T-Top recanvas

The T-top price will depend on the size and what obstruction need to be cut around (outriggers/lights/GPS antenna). Sunbrella or other quality canvas material (top gun, "Sunbrella" because that's what they heard before. I'm an upholsterer and there are other materials better suited for T-tops than Sunbrella.

A standard 40" x 70" cavas material with brass or nickel grommets will run you about $100-$125, depending on the material/shop. A little more if you want them to lace it on for you. If there are other things that need to be adapted into it (cut outs, etc), add $ to the price. I'm in Fl myself, if you want a top made or need additional info, PM me and I'll help anyway I can.

thanks I was worried this was going to run in the 5 to 6 hundred range, but yes I do have outriggers mounted, and 2 VHF antenna's but they appear to have been bolted through the canvas (after the fact) I will most likely need the canvas laced, as to I have no idea what I would be doing

Re: T-Top recanvas

Lacing the top on is no big deal. With the top centered in place, secure it with 6-8 zip ties. Start in the center front and lace around one side (follow the current pattern). Snug the lacing in place, but don't overdo it. End in the aft center of the t-top. Go back to the front and start complete the other side, snugging the lace as you go around. Secure in the aft center. Voila! Done.
