Hello,
I am fixing to reinstall my swim ladder and had a question about the sealant. Do i need to seal the entire ladder bracket or just the holes themselves?

I don't have any with it off, but here is where it is mounted. It's not mounted through the transom, but rather through hull with wood blocks for support.

I would just seal the holes using 3m 4200.

What year Larson is she? Looks to be in great shape.

It's a 1996 Larson SEI 194 with 356 hours. The previous owner had it stored indoors its whole life.

Only 6 years difference from yours to my 2002 SEI 190 with about 300 hours on it.

On my '97 Larson 186 SEI, those holes are where water first intruded and rotted my transom (on the '97, the thru-bolts for the ladder do pass through the transom core). Although I think the '96 is slightly different construction inside, I would not take any chances with those holes; not only are they constantly underwater, but they get flexed whenever someone large uses the ladder. I'd be slathering on some sealant, either 3M 4200 or 5200, on both the holes and the brackets. Water intrusion there will find it's way to the decking and into the foam, so why take a chance?
