Greetings!
My boat is a 1984 model so as you may have thought, it does not have any smart phone holders :)
I do have a radio i've aded that includes an iPhone input that plays music from the phone and also charges the phone. And Its also nice to use some of the charting apps as water-gps too. But there's just no reasonable place to store the phone while using it like this.

So what I'm looking for is a reasonably priced, adjustable phone mount that can be mounted to the vertical support pillar that holds the windshield up. It's the perfect spot, right next to the radio input. Nice and easy. But I haven't been able to find anything like this. Anyone know of a solution?

I have my small fish finder/depth finder attached to one of those window support poles with ty-wraps. It's been there for years.
It's tightly attached, but it can be rotated to view it from different angles.
Just get a normal automotive phone mount and attach it to that pole with a couple ty-wraps.

Use the black weatherproof ty-wraps that have the stainless steel clip inside the female end.

Ram makes a claw type clamp mount for rods as small as 5/8". It could be adapted to a phone mount.

I've had a depth finder mounted to the window upright....knocked it every time I went through the walkthrough and I was a skinny lad at that time. I wouldn't mount a phone there....personal preference.

How about a waterproof case made for mounting on a motorcycle or bicycle ?

They make them with RAM ball mounts too.
