Stuck Gas Gauge

2015 Yamaha FXHO Cruiser. The gas gauge bars got stuck at about 1/2 tank. When I filled it up to about 3/4 tank it went up. Now as it uses gas it won't come down.

I'm assuming there is some sort of float in the tank. I can pull the seat and see how much I have left, but I'd rather have the gauge work.

Any easy way to free up the float without having to dismantle the tank?

Replace the sender. If the old one is hanging up it's going bad.
