that old-school 10Hp Honda Kicker would be worth a good chunk of that $700 asking IMO...

^^^ and seeing that picture enlarged, it looks like they through-bolted the outer transom skin to the splashwell. I bet stress cracks galore.

The old Charger engine cover would be cool

Yeah, that's nuts. There's one here for $13,500 with a carbed 2 stroke. Nice boat, but crazy money. You might as well finance a new one and take great care of it.

Bud I need you to show me the Zen ways you have of finding those decent priced SF's you always seem to have in tow. I'll buy the suds. :D

That's a nice rig for sure, but that price puts it way out of my league. Of course I'm cheap and everybody says I spend more time cobbling my fishing stuff together than I would if I'd just drop a little more coin. That's why I bass fish from a 34 year old SS instead of a nice sleek new bass boat.

I think we're collectively the cheapest recreational boaters in the world

$35K is the starting point for a decent new aluminum boat...man, that's like ten rebuilds for us!

This '63 Jupiter is more in our price range

'63 Jupiter...No Trailer / Motor...for $200.

Generous freeboard for a smaller boat! :thumb:

It looks like a clean Hull & the windshield appears intact.

Something tells me he's in for a rude awakening trying to get someone to drop that much coin on his 'all it needs is a full restore' boat with no motor.

Yeah Glen I sent that guy a message the same day he posted it. Never did reply to me.. So now after seeing the V5's smaller bow area I've changed my search to the SF and FM model SC so I would have a chance for a newer motor, livewells and such.

Great plan the V5 is very tight up in the bow.

$600 Not bad for me, but isnt anti fouling paint bad for these?

"This is a project I started and don't have time to finish. Its a 1972 Starcraft bowrider that has been stripped - I was going to make a fishing boat out of it. I have put a new finished transom in with marine grade plywood. I made new plywood floors but there are not finished and probably should be re done but the existing ones can server as patterns. I also primed and bottom painted the boat with anti fouling paint as you can see in the photos. The boat comes with the original trailer with new tires/wheels I installed about a year ago. I also redid the bearings on one wheel that needed it. I have a title for the boat and the trailer is registered - the boat is registered as well. This would make a good project for someone. Please contact me with any questions - the boat is located in Edgewater, FL.

Anti-fouling paint thats labeled aluminum safe is ok, IIRC, its the copper thats in many ablative types of anti-fouling paint thats the problem.

IMO the bigger problem is a half done aluminum boat thats likely seen saltwater use, and now has a thick heavy bottom paint on it.
