Best Value under $800 on a boat

[h=2]Best Value under $800 on a boat - $800[/h]
................................Most people contacting me are 100% committed to paying as little as possible and have no idea what a boat is worth.

If your one of these people, I have listed several other boats in your price range - please contact them and act interested in their boats instead of wasting my time, and yours.

Under $700, posted this January...............

What a nice fella, all that extra work, just to keep me from wasting my time..

Hopefully he's not on iboats, then I'd be in real trouble.....

He sounds frustrated, I know it's been for sale for a couple months.

It's probably a good deal, I see lots of 12' row boats with small or junk motors selling for $800 plus.

But on the other side of the coin, everybody is looking for the best deal possible, I know I am.

I understand why the seller feels that way. The ad just sets a tone, that even if I was looking for something similar to his Jet, I might keep looking just because of the way his ad's written, and I wouldn't really want to go see it, if I could reasonably find an alternate....

It does look like a pretty good deal for $800.......... Don't you need an intermediate, something between the 14' & 21' :laugh:

I keep looking, but with my boat budget I would be one of those insulting people. ;)

I have seen ad's like this. I'm always discouraged from calling them. I wonder he will ever get a call.

On the other hand. Being a seller I have really got some dumb calls. I try to be polite answering their 20 questions then they never show up. I have gotten better at posting my ads and that helps.

Re: Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

After JnG started the easy way thread, I searched Marinettes. I actually found a thread in another forum in which a guy said he knew a guy who scrapped a largish Marinette and got $4k. Of course he didn't post a pic of the receipt because it didn't exist. I think Magnundekes got $250-300 for his first corroded Islander and that was cut into small pieces and pretty clean.

Yah, that would be a heck of a surprise. "Invest" $4K, spend an extra couple hundred hauling it to the scrapper to have him cut a check for $1K:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The big brother to my 21' chieftain. What a great looking ocean boat wish I had the 26' model, but 32 would be good. No trailer and too far away. Otherwise I would be tempted. Twin cummins diesels and that boat would be a tuna fishing machine.
