carp, that means he wants a fortune for his 2.5yr old trailer.

Wonder if he'd deliver it to a ramp for the 500

I agree, salt water isn't acid.

This is a great boat, one of my favorite SC's.

The port raised deck area originally had a dinette where the helm seat is now, or maybe that was just an option.

It's a great family cruiser, but I'm realizing now that what I want is an easy to trailer dedicated fishing boat. If it was closer I'd definitely be looking at it, though :D. If it was an outboard I'd head to Mass and buy it.

Do you have any more pictures of that boat that you could PM me ? I'd like to see more of how it's set up. I haven't seen any of these big girls on the net.

The Bearcat 55 on that Lone Star is really nice. That would be a great motor for a period restoration. A 4 stroke that was way ahead of its time.

This is just from a Google image search:
Thanks. I use a different search engine so maybe that's why I don't get any hits. I try to avoid Google but maybe I'll have to cross that line...

I seen those ;) I suppose over the years so many of these boats have been "fixed", redesigned, and plain stripped, so finding pics of complete interiors may be hard to find.

I have more pictures of that Express, a real good candidate to put back on the water ! The ad shows it's in Lynn, NH but it's not, in Lynn, Mass. I talked to the guy a few minutes ago. It looks good IMO, making me think long and hard whether I want to drive 1/4 mile for a 21' Chief or 5 hours for a 25' Express.

Depends on how far you have to pull the boat to get to your boating destination. That big boat would be like towing a V8 powered house behind you.

I vote for the 25 fter
The wife don't care either way, but she does like a bigger boat lol. I've never had to deal with salt water though so am a bit concerned with finding hidden corrosion after driving 5 hours.

At the most probably 3 hours to my uncles cabin on Black Lake in Ogdensburg, NY. Closest is about an hour to Cayuga Lake.
It has a 165 L6, supposedly a new long block.

IL6 on that boat is seriously under powered, it needs a 350 with 260 HP.

Do you think someone did a drive swap then ? Or just underpowered from the factory and wasn't ordered with the bigger engine ?
Edit: found the '76 literature...options of the 165, 188, 233, twin 120, twin 140

Here's a link to the other pics full size...
