Ahh, gocha...like the old car headlights...a century of UV exposure turns'em. So technically it could be clear lead-crystal if it were barn-kept?

Or covered with mouse poop. :watermelon:

Trailer-less....
Up for sale is a 1958 Starcraft "Speed Queen". I purchased a smaller one (1957 Ski Champ) about 5 years ago that I had the intention of restoring, and stumbled across its big brother to match it (1958 Speed Queen). With several other projects going I have decided to let these go. Both are rare models, and both are twin cockpit style boats. I hope to have the other listed later this week. Boat is in great restorable condition. No leaks. Was used right up until last fall (has current tabs). No major hull dents or dings. Will need a decent amount of wood work done, but nothing that wouldn't be out of line for its age. I also have a windshield that would work for this boat off another project that I will throw in as well. I have MN paperwork on it, ready for transfer.

If you search a bit, there are some excellent pictures of a catalog online that show all the specs and neat photos of the boat in action. There is also a great example of a Ski-Champ restoration on the iboats forum pages that I would highly recommend checking out as well. I will include a few pictures from the catalog in my posting also. You see tons of the old Crestliners and Alumacrafts, very few and far between on these Starcraft models. In the past 5 years I have only seen 2 other Starcraft speedboats on here of this era.

Price is for boat only. The trailer pictured are not for sale. I possibly can help with transportation within 15-20 miles of 55128, if it comes down to it, but lets discuss it before its assumed.

16 ss hull and trailer $500 twin cities

Starcraft 16ft w walk thru windshield casting deck

mid 60's "mariner" hull and trailer, $400 twin cities

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/boa/3907076878.html

And a 1973 Chieftain 18 i/o, blown engine

hull and engine $250
Hull, engine, outdrive and tilt $600 with the trailer $1000

Talked with the guy yesterday, he wants it gone, says the floor and transom are good.

I was gonna go get it today, but will hold out for a 21' or 25'

Anyway, if you have an engine, you can't beat the price on the hull.

1973 Starcraft Chieftan(parts) Iron Mountain MI (100 miles nw or Green Bay)

Regarding the Jetson light.
UV from the sun turns the lens purple after 20-30-40 years of exposure.
They burn white when illuminated due to the color spectrum of the incandescent bulb.

C'mon JB you stripped bedliner house paint is nothing.

I see way more than $200 in parts sitting there. If that thing were within 300 miles of me it would be on its way home.

Well, get somebody to drag it this way Sig & I'll drag it to you for the princely sum of a ride on the 'toon on Douglas Lake, a steak on the grill & a spin in the SS when you get her done. Plastic instruments & all ;)
